Today is a rough day. When someone in your life makes you question yourself, your actions, how you communicate, etc., it can be so hard not to believe them.
I start thinking about all the awful things anyone has ever said, wondering if they're all right. It's like opening a file drawer of hate to add in a file and ending up stirring up every other file inside.
I'm...
A b*tch
A c*nt
Lazy
A child
Unsuccessful
A horrible writer
A horrible person
Controlling
Manipulative
Psycho
Too much work
Not attractive
Not Godly enough
Not good enough
Too honest
Too quiet
A sweet innocent victim
A bad friend
The list goes on.
When will it end? When do the files get burned to ash? Or does the file drawer just keep growing?
Just kidding. There aren't 214 of them. But I do feel like my patience for people in general is wearing thin.
This pet peeve is all about changing the plan and not bothering to inform those who it affects. This could be a friend who changes the plan. First, telling you they will be running an errand for 30 minutes. Then two hours go by and you discover they've been doing other things they didn't plan or bother to tell you about, even when the plan changed.
Or a boss who gives you a project, let's you work on it for two weeks, and when you send it in they inform you of the project changes that went into effect a week ago that they didn't bother to tell you a week ago.
That's the key. Changing a plan happens. Sometimes it needs to be done. But when it changes, inform people. It's called courtesy. Grrrrrrr....

A boss who gives (actually: gave 😀) me a project, let's me work on it and tell me nothing about project changes? This was normal.
The challenge was: not to get angry.
But this is a big challenge!
It definitely shouldn't be normal! People need to communicate better. Tsk tsk.

Time to open a new file drawer. And fill it with positive.

There are definitely drawers of positive but sometimes that negative drawer just won't close.

What do you care what other people think?
